About Me

Erasmus Mweene is an enthusiastic, reliable, analytical, goal-oriented, and self-motivated Zambian young man who believes in possibility in whatever he does.
In August 2010, Erasmus formed a youth-led, volunteer-run and Not-For-Profit (NFP) organization called YOPAH (YOPAH was renamed YAfC on 18th January, 2012 after an official registration with the government of Zambia).

On 3rd December 2011, Erasmus successfully hosted a UNAIDS CrowdOutAIDS Offline Open Forum in Lusaka City (Zambia). He mobilized youth AIDS activists who took part in the forum.

Outside HIV/AIDS work Erasmus is currently serving as Country Representative for One Day On Earth (11.11.11) Zambia.
As Country Representative, he organized participants who were filming from Zambia for the One Day On Earth (11/11/11) 2011 edition. He also organized Cinema houses/theatres for the first ever global screening of a film that will include footage that was shot in every country on the planet on a single day. The movie, which bears the same title as the organization, One Day on Earth, will be screened in every country of the world on the same day on 1st April, 2012. www.onedayonearth.org

In January 2012, Erasmus is volunteering as Country Outreach Co-ordinator for the UNCSD Major Group for Youth and Children (UNCSD - MGYC) Capacity Building Team.
UNCSD - MGYC is a civil society which will represent children and youth's voices at the Rio+20 Earth Summit.
