About Me |
Erdp Kenya helps Emuhaya people meet their goals in various ways by giving them Financial, moral, Environmental and economic support in all aspect of production and life to registered groups and children centers in Emuhaya. As result of children being taken to get early employment as house helps/shamba boys, going to beg on streets and parents violating children’s rights; by exposing them to child molestation, its important that this situation be addressed. It’s to this reason that we started a school and a center where children will be defended their rights in Emuhaya by giving them Access to education other than employment and begging from streets/towns. It’s not the fault of this people to beg as their parents can’t afford to pay for their livelihood due to luck of basic needs. Western Kenya is characterized with High levels of poverty and hence low income is the root cause to all the above. Erdp is a Community Based Organization working in the rural western Kenya to help the community especially Residents, learn how cope with life easily by providing income generating activities in form of trade, agriculture, Nutrition and environment. Also it works closely with children especially their rights just to ensure that these children have a bright future. The programme incorporates a range of activities such as care services for the children, youth & adults with capacity building including the welfare of the community members The youth are encouraged to vote and know their role when it comes to leadership. People cannot afford daily bread as they do not have income generating activities that can boost them other than depending on their husbands who have not been very helpful, as they have migrated to the nearby towns. Emuhaya area is also affected largely when it comes to HIV+ infected persons in Kenya. This area needs a serious awareness program put in place just to help this people change their behavior by setting the awareness programs in place In Kenya, young people have been abused of rape and drugs, women have been abandoned in villages without gainful employment making them lack their daily bread. Old men have nothing to do! We provide gainful activities to this groups and that has been a major achievement. We have look into the rights of animals in Emuhaya and that has also helped protect the Animals at large. We just want to see a working and developing community, hence driving away laziness among our community members.
