 About Me |
Elizabeth Rothschild is the new national organizing director for the Young Democratic Socialists. Originally from the Washington DC area, she is a May 2005 graduate of the University of Virginia with a double major in African American Studies and Sociology. She now lives in New York City where she spent the past two summers as a classroom teacher at the Children's Defense Fund's Freedom School where she integrated reading, conflict resolution and social action in an activity-based curriculum that promotes social, cultural, and historical awareness. She also spent several summers and winters working for the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights organizing around poverty, housing, healthcare, affirmative action, education, and other issues.
