Over Mij

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, thirty years ago. After high school, I studied in the veeery intense JVG Teacher Training College, and I became a teacher of english. A couple of years later, I got a university degree in English. At about that time, I met and fell in love with a man from Mendoza (a province in Argentina), so I decided to quit all my teaching jobs and I moved to Mendoza. The following year, my daughter was born. Now my kid is three years old, and the three of us live in the USA (my husband is doing a PhD in Physics here). I'm not working right now (my visa won't allow it). So, for the first time in my life, I was able to sit down and think about my career. I decided that the time had come to make a change. I want to be a translator. Actually, I have always wanted to be a translator... It´s just that I had always been dissuaded by the situation of many translators who could only find jobs as teachers. But I am not going to let it stop me now. I am learning the ropes and starting to do volunteer work. I would like to produce quality translations that can help people get closer and understand each other. That is my aim. And this is my story (the most interesting part, anyway!)
