Will's passion, research, and interests lie in the understanding, the development, and the nurturing of interpersonal relationships. In working with at promise youth, he has made a practice of respecting young people as decision makers - while challenging them to become self-aware, self-directed, and independent thinkers. He believes in the awesome power of familial learning environments and its impact on raising students' expectations. His philosophy of peoplegogy is a direct result of his commitment to helping people to discover the best within themselves. As a former program coordinator of a mentoring and college preparation program in Boston, MA, Will embraces his personal mission to getting back to the basics in public education. He uses his experiences and expertise to conduct workshops for graduate education students to share best practices, as well as deliver his message: "All of us are accountable for what spirit, what attitude, and what intention we bring into our lives." Will now lives in Hattiesburg, MS with his wife, Elvira G. Deyamport, an elementary school teacher. In addition to speaking engagements, Will is hard at work striving to make PEOPLEGOGY, LLC a valuable asset to the teaching community. What is peoplegogy? The answer: Peoplegogy is the art and science of reaching people. This relationship enhancement practice utilizes the best of family systems theory, the work of Albert Bandura, and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in creating a clear, consistent, and authentic way of building sound relationships. It is the intentional designing of a warm, an accepting, and a reciprocal relationship. How do we do that? Simple. We have taken the best methods and research-based strategies for creating a supportive and healthy family, towards designing a fully engaging and participative classroom. We believe that every classroom is its own little family, and as such should be a safe, a happy, and an inspiring place for both teacher and learner. Within the next five years, we would like to expand the range and scope of services we provide by assisting schools in building family life education centers. The reason: The commitment to building better schools, begins with a commitment to building better families. |
