About Me |
I am an innovative, confident and beautiful young woman who is making her move in making the world a better place, one step and one word at the time. My passion and drive is working with young people, particularly girls and young women. Changing their mindsets and lives through inspiration and education for a beautiful future.
I have worked for a Non Profit Organization ( Zakheni Training and Development Center) as a Youth Programme Facilitator, where I used to facilitate HIV/AIDS prevention programmes to groups of young people and also promoting Peer Education as a tool for prevention of new HIV infections. After a period of a year and half, I was then promoted to Coordinate the Youth Programme Office, where I was responsible for Organizing events, liaising with relevant Stake holders, marketing the Organization to possible partners, attending regular meetings, Consolidating Reports and Managing a team of Facilitators and Peer Educators.
Currently I work as a Producer/Presenter for a Community Radio Station "TUT FM 96.2 the ultimate dial".My show focuses on health awareness and the Social Responsibility programmes. I believe that media is also a power tool for change and everyday I am feel blessed and fortunate to be part of that change.
As part of my Advocacy work, last year I participated in a photography project "Through Positive Eyes South Africa" which was aimed at telling positive stories about living with HIV.I was also selected by the Project coordinator to represent the group on National TV to brief the South Africa about my personal experiences during the Project.
I then attended the "Positive Convention" last year November in Durban, South Africa where we talking about positive prevention. The convention was aimed at granting the participants(activists and those living with HIV/AIDS) a platform to share tools on positive prevention.
I was also part of the young people who participated during the drafting of "The Call for Action Document" during the Global Youth Summit on HIV/AIDS 2011 in Mali, Bamako.
To relax, I love reading, writing, traveling and spending time with my baby boy and my sisters..
