Further experience I have in AIDS and SRHR work, are my internships at the World AIDS Campaign on Youth and Gender issues. My main responsibilities were to support the World AIDS Day in India, create and facilitate a taskforce to investigate the issue of sustainable youth leadership and identify concrete recommendations, which were shared with the youth constituency. Additionally an important other focus of my internship was mapping women’s organizations and the AIDS movements to identify key policy processes for women’s organizations, related to HIV, for 2009 and 2010. Second at my internship at United Nations Population Fund in New York I worked at the adolescent and youth cluster where I supported the organization of a potential World Youth Conference, by, for example, doing research on agreed language from relevant international resolutions and declarations related to young people and the eight Millennium Development Goals. My internship for GYCA included assisting the revision of materials for the Small Grants program and provide support for the launch of the next round of grants; Further I developed a discussion guide for community screenings of Love in a Time of HIV including directions for screenings with policy-makers for dissemination through the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS and partners; Currently, I just finished my exchange program, studying feminist studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In the Netherlands I will graduate from the University Utrecht in the Netherlands in February 2010 in International relations and minors in Latin American Studies and Gender Studies. These three different angles of knowledge give me the opportunity to learn and approach challenges in a critical international, gender and cultural interdisciplinary-based way.
