 About Me |
This is a group of students who are members of an Anti-AIDS Club; these students are volunteers on different fields.
The club (Dee-relate) is a health club, which campaigns against HIV/AIDS, STDs and STIs. The relevance of the club in the school environment is to throw more light on the effect and prevention of HIV/AIDS among students using the ABC method i.e.: A _ Abstinence; B_ Be faithful; C_ Condomise, also fight against stigmatization and discrimination towards PLWHA. This group is also a subsidiary of African Youths for Transparency an NGO based in Lagos.
It is a fact that HIV/AIDS remains the highest contributor of mortality in the world and it is now the most prevalent problem in Africa. The youths remain the most affected age group in terms of AIDS epidemic and they need to be properly informed about how to guide against it.
The very aim of this group is to see to the increase of enlightenment and awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and STDS among our teenagers and youths, so as to curb the excessive spread of the disease that is ignorantly spreading among the young people today. The group is also concerned about relationships and their aftermaths, so as to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
Youths are believed to be the reservoir of the nation’s strength, leadership and labor productivity. Therefore, healthy youths produce healthy nations.
