About Me   About Me
Jasmina Ivosevic was born in Bijeljina in 1977. She finished primary school as the best pupil, and after that, grammar school with the same success. After finishing the grammar school she entered in Economic Faculty (Sarajevo University, department in Bijeljina). She finished her Master Degree on Economic and Social Rights in BH.
As the best student, she became president of the Student Association in 1998. Since that year this Association grown up into very successful non-governmental organization, and undertake a lot of project for the students, in order to help them and to improve their standard of living. She organized a lot of public lectures, round tables, conferences, sport activities and competitions, excursions, etc. for students from both entities of BH.
At the same time she became a member of Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Republika Srpska; because of her multi-ethnical and democratical believes, and well developed multi-ethnical and democratic ties with almost all youth and student associations in both BH entities. Very soon, she became Secretary General of the Committee, and stay on this position two years according to Statute of the Committee. Her mandate past in August of this year, and she directs her energy and enthusiasm on the Citizen Association "Bona Fides". During her work in the Committee she gave great contribution for image and respectability of the Committee, and realized eight very successful projects. She was project coordinator for researching prisons in Republika Srpska and position of the prisoners who are non-Serbs. The result of this project was a 100 pages book: "Prisons in Republika Srpska", which is published in 1000 peace and is very useful and popular in public. Her second researching project was "Role of the media in War in Former Yugoslavia". This project required a lot of fieldwork, so she traveled a lot through all Former Yugoslavia Republic.
Third researching project was "Minority Rights in Republika Srpska" which was realized after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Her other projects were educational one as are TV series, Seminars, Conferences, Round Tables, etc.
Since October 2001, she is President of "Bona Fides", and till now, she herself, implemented very successfully two projects in this organization (financed by Austrian Ministry for foreign Affairs and Council of Europe). Also, Westminster Foundation for Democracy funded one project that is still in progress. There is remarkably success of "Bona Fides" since she is on this position.
Since 1998, she attended a lot of seminars and workshops on democracy, human rights, reconciliation, return process, minority rights, confidential building, peace building, conflict resolution, etc. She attended seminars organized by: Quaker Peace and social Witness in BiH (QPSW), Open Society Institute (SOROS), Slovenia, International Helsinki Federation (IHF), Canadian Foundation for Human rights, Human Rights Internet-Ottawa (HRI), Human rights centre Athens (KEPAD), Helsinki Citizen Assembly (hCa), Central European University, Budapest (CEU), Minority Rights Group International, London (MRG), ABF from Sweden, Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO), Norwegian Helsinki Committee, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Council of Europe, and many local NGOs.

Jasmina Ivosevic is in possession of seven international certificates for different skills:

• Public Relations (SOROS)
• Human rights trainer for youth (Canadian Foundation for human rights)
• Internet and human rights researching (HRI)
• Conflict resolutions and minority rights (UNITAR)
• Coalition forming and work in Balkan region (KEPAD)
• European Citizenship in Youth Work (Council of Europe)
• Peoples diplomacy, Non-Violence and Global Civil Society after September 11 (International University for peoples institutions for peace, Italy)

With all this respectful skills and her personality, she is well equipped for work with youth and the best person who can make the influences on the youth in order to make them active in social and cultural life.
International Youth Network Youth Net (http://www.youthactionnet.org/awards/) from Baltimore in USA proclaims her for Ambassador of this organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She won special prize for contribution in democracy and peace building in world for year 2002.
She is very fluent in English and all former Yugoslavia languages: Croatian, Bosniaks, Macedonian, Slovenian, and Serbian as mother tongue. She can also use Russian and Bulgarian.
