I just turned 21 years old and I will be a senior at the George Washington in the fall. This past semester I had the fortunate opprotunity to study in London and travel much of Europe. Through my travels I have gained a greater appreciation for America and the important ideals it should and can represent. Also through traveling I saw how misunderstandings and past historical events continue to shape the world. I became a firm believer in understanding other cultures before judging them. Appreciating other people before labeling them. As a society we have so much to learn from one another and we musn't let past historical mistakes dictate how we act towards one another. If peace will ever be achieved it will be through forging partnerships of trust. Organizations such as this help build the foundation of trust necessary to form lasting and sustainable alliances. Students of the world would be extremely powerful if we worked together in all of our mutual benefits.
