About Me   About Me
I read these words once in a reflection booklet during a week-long silent retreat in my college years. These are the words that continue to inspire me to work, to serve, with love. As president of the Batangas Youth Organization, a gathering Youth leaders that aim to strengthen Good values and work for youth development in the Philippines, I have led the group for two years now in various leadership seminars conferences, and projects on issues such as education, the environment, good government and peace. In my college, I held various positions such as Executive Council for Youth and Development for World Youth Union-PILIPINAS, as well as Core member of relief operations for flood victims. During the national elections, I was a Core member of the NAMFREL (National Movement for Free and Responsible Elections) Quezon City Quick Count. As one of the Batangas youth delegates to the National Youth Parliament. I presided as Chairperson of National Capital Region on the session on New Approaches Towards Cooperation in the Region As a President of BYO, I served as coordinator in Mt. Makulot Clean-up & tree Planting activity last October 2003 Cuenca, Batangas. In Cooperation with World Youth Union, National Youth Commission DENR, ICTSI Mountaineering, HEOC, Luntiang Pilipinas. I have been raised in a family with strong values, a dedication to helping others and a closeness to God. It is this experience that has inspired me to become more involved in society as I realized that each one of us is responsible for everyone else. I have felt this more fervently during the times we would spend sleepless nights in our school conducting relief operations for flood victims or counting election ballots to ensure honest national elections while balancing academic work in the morning. These are the things I knew we just had to do even if it meant making some sacrifices. I know that if my heart was not fully in the work I was doing, then I did not do my best. As young leaders we need a balance of passion, responsibility and humility.
An active member of the ROTARACT Pasay North and a current member of the faculty of Environmental Science and AMA Microsystems in the AMA Computer University, I believe in encouraging more youth to take an active role building a nation and becoming responsible citizens of the world. I will never stop hoping for a time of more understanding, when people of all races and religions would work and live together in peace.
A firm believer in developing the whole person, I also focused on other activities such as golf, billiards and badminton. I love to paint natural scenes, play the piano and write.
