Mr. Qureshi is actively involved in research, development and policy planning of integrated production, dry land farming, mountain agriculture, sustainable land management and climate change issues. At present, he is running collaborative development projects in partnership with UNDP/Global Environment Facility, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), Human Development Foundation (HDF), Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), GEF Focal Point in the Ministry of Environment and various civil society organizations by managing multi-stakeholders partnership involving NGOs/CBOs, government and the corporate sector. Because of his continued success in sustainable integrated production approach by manipulating cropping patterns, The Pakistan Society of Sugar Technologists (PSST) has awarded him a Gold Medal and the honorary shield. He has travelled extensively and possesses skills in project development, fundraising, business planning, resource mobilization, networking, lobbying, cross cultural communication, strategic planning and to organize training workshops, seminars, symposia, long walks, hiking trips and exposure visits on particular themes. Being one of the Fellows of LEAD-Pakistan, he is also actively involved in the efforts for strengthening LEAD Fellows Network both nationally as well as globally. He is also playing an active role in Human Resource Development Network (HRDN), Pakistan German Friendship Association (PGFA), UN sponsored Netaid Global Program and evolution of One UN System. He has also worked as a consultant to a number of organizations including LEAD-Pakistan, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), WWF-Pakistan, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Food & Agriculture, Hunting Technical Services (HTS), Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and a wide range of Sugar Mills in the corporate sector. Currently, Mr. Qureshi is also serving as Executive Board Member of Pakistan German Friendship Association (PGFA), Board Member of Economic Justice and Development Organization (EJAD), Chambeli – An Institute of Handicapped Children and Kuchlak Welfare Society (KWS), Balochistan. He has attended numerous national and international workshops, seminars and meetings on environment and sustainable development. He has also organized a large number of workshops, seminars and training events for capacity building and institutionalization of small-scale community based organizations working in different areas of Pakistan. He has published many research papers, consultancy reports, status reports and several training modules. His future plans include: (1) To reduce and gradually eliminate the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in agriculture & industry over the next 5 to 7 years in line with National Implementation Plan (NIP) of POPs and the Stockholm Convention ratified by Government of Pakistan, (2) To organize, manage and lead an institutional network of a diverse range of organizations at the national and global level with one of the major aims of addressing climate change issues in their all forms and manifestations.
