About Me

African Citizens Development Foundation (ACDF) was established on the 3rd of April 1995 and duly registered as a development NGO on February 25, 2000 with the objective of educating citizens on the importance of human virtues and integrity towards the development of noble mindedness and noble ideals and to promote culture of trust and service for buildig a cultured society in Africa. ACDF is involved in Agriculture and Rural community development, working presently with more than 2000 farmers through her subsidiary NGO; ASSEFAD established in 1998. The Foundation's first project was in October 1997, the famous Citizens College (CITICOLL) located at TEMU, Epe, Lagos state Nigeria with an annex in Port-Novo, in the Republic of Benin, for the French language development for Citicoll students. The college is a component of our Youth Development Programs, to offer "tuition free" qualitative private secondary education to eligible African children irrespective of social class or cultural disparity. Students are registered as the Foundation's student members at the point of admission, they are inducted as "Live Members" at graduation. The Foudation become a stake holder in their development through tertiary institutions and as they seek for quality jobs as adults, preparing them as stakeholders for the global development challenges in Africa. The college is co-educational fully boarding schools with high profile of discipline to produce a "total child". We have instituted an annual event and organized the first African Citizens Forum (ACF) in Lagos Nigeria between 25-27, May 2004, the next will take place in Pretoria, South Africa in 2005. African Citizens Parliament has been inaugurated as an offshoot of the forum. Citizens become "African Citizens Parliamentarians" (ACPs) to discuss the conditions in Africa which paint a grim picture of a continent in distress in which most of her citizens are unconscious of their own part in the stifling mistery, crime, disease, corruption and poverty which is the result of producing and sustaining bad leaders, poor and weak governance that give Africa a bad name. ACDF launches this initiative to reverse the tragedy through process of dialogue among the African citizens. ACDF is involve in several development programs, all of which centered on citizens development for a better society. We plan to have 100 Citizens colleges across Africa, to catch and mould the youths young towards making a new Africa. You're invited to take a look at our websites at:
