Technical Working Group (TWG)
As part of the implementation effort with the wider plans of the African Decade of Youth for Development, a maiden African Youth Report with Country Statistical profiles is to prepared for presentation at the July 2010 Summit of African Heads of Government.
Therefore, a Technical Working Group (TWG) is being established to provide technical guidance in the development of the Country Profile and Statistical database on youth in Africa with plausible linkages to the UNECA African Center for Statistical Capacity Building efforts in Africa.
Amongst others, the major tasks of this technical working group would be to:
• Define the methodology of operation for the statistical database team at country level
• Provide technical guidance for sub-regional level analysis of submitted country profiles
• Support data validation and source verification
• Develop and propose as African Youth Empowerment Measure and Composite Policy Index
• Develop guidance for generation, interpretation, analysis and source of information for the Framework for an African Youth Development Indicators
