 About Me |
Beginning my social activist life at an early age, I have been with Girls' Power Initiative, an NGO with the mission of empowering the girl child with comprehensive sexuality education, personal and managerial skills since its inception.I have represented the NGO at conferences across Nigeria, served as a presenter of a TV show 'A ride with GPI' for three years and also as a peer educator in outreach school in my locality. Also, started a campaign for Youths living with HIV/AIDS and RAPE victims. During my training with GPI, I learned invaluable problem solving skills and cultural sensitivity. I’ve served as marketing assistant field interviewer for Research marketing service (RMS) based in Lagos and I underwent an internship program with Environmental Rights Action/Friends of the Earth, Nigeria. (ERA/FoEN) www.eraction.org an NGO fighting for the protection of our environment and community dwellers' livelihood and democratizing development. I’m currently working with the Organisation as a Project Assitant. I am involved in environmental activism, youth engagement and human rights advocacy.
Climate change, anti-smoking, gender issues, and sustainable development are all topics that interest me. I plan to be a successful environmental consultant in the nearest future so I read Animal and Environmental Biology (Zoology) at the University of Benin in Nigeria. Bringing together my experience with youth based organizations and the skills developed working in informal and formal youth engagement, I'm involve in Environmental protection campaign, violence against women, HIV/AIDS, Food sovereignty Climate Change, Human Rights amongst others.
