My full name is Kwame Afenyo Christian Bansah and the second of nine children borne to my father. My nationality is Ghana, a country sandwiched by three other countries at the east-Togo; west-Cote D'Ivoire; north-Burkina Faso that you can locate on the map of West Africa. My first name is Kwame because I was borne on a Saturday. I come from a little rural town called Nyagbo Sroe, which belongs to the Guan speaking subculture of the 26 main subcultures in Ghana. The food I like best is fried plantain and cooked beans. My first spoken language is Guan, followed by others including Ewe, Akan, English (the official working language) and a little French. I am 5 ft. "9" inch tall and my skin tone is light black. I hold a University Degree in Social Studies [B.ED (Social Studies)] from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. My computer literacy skills include knowledge in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Power Point, Netscape Communicator, Internet Explorer, Corel Print House/MS-Publisher, MS-DOS, Windows '95, '98, & '2000. I have worked as a Junior High School tutor for six years. After my graduation from the university in 2000, I have also served as a Senior Research Assistant in an international research project called IEQ being implemented by the Centre for Research on Improving Quality Primary Education in Ghana (CRIQPEG) UCC under USAID/AIR sponsorship. I am a co-founder of Youth Aid Foundation for Winners (YAFOW) of which I have served as co-ordinator since it was founded some three years ago. I was a member of AIESEC International, University of Cape Coast branch during my school days. The only country I have visited so far is Togo, my country's eastern boarder neighbour. I look forward to more opportunities for interacting with young people from other cultures in the days ahead. My greatest challenge is how I can build my capacity at dealing with the deepening marginalization and deprivation pushing my fellow youth in this part of my country to the fringes of human survival due to widespread ignorance, illiteracy, disease and poverty. I share in the same vision as my colleagues at TakingITGlobal.org that is, "to build the capacities of the youth by the use of Information, Communication and Telecommunication media to highlight the plight of deprived youth during events, to people and organisations that have their needs and interest at heart. My contact information is: Postal mail: YAFOW, P. O. Box UC 101, Cape Coast, Ghana-West Africa. Telephone: (233) 020-8167692/042-32449 E-mail: afenyobans@yahoo.co.uk
