About Me

In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from UPEI. Since then, I've been actively involved as a volunteer with an amazing organization: Mikinduri Children of Hope – a Charlottetown-based not-for-profit organization focused on improving the lives of the people of the small, rural village of Mikinduri, Kenya.

I've spent a lot of time wondering how I might be able to meaningfully contribute to and make a difference in the lives of others. I'm passionate about social justice, human rights, and international development, and so I began seeking out opportunities to play a more "hands-on" role in these activities. I was recently accepted to participate in an eight-week project in Ghana with Youth Challenge International, and I couldn't be happier. Volunteering with MCOH has inspired me to form my own not-for-profit organization, and I'm hoping that my work in Ghana will provide me with insight and a way to make this happen.

I’m currently completing an International Community Development certificate through Mount Royal College.
