About Me

I am a Cuban high school teacher of (ESOL) English to Speakers of Other Languages living in Miami, Florida; and a self proclaimed Humane Educator. Philosophically I define myself as a kind of Progressive (SDA) Seventh Day Adventist-Humanist Christian

(((()))) I believe in Progress, in all the possible changes we need to implement to build a better future. I believe in Sustainable Development, in the use of Renewable Sources of Energy, in Recycling, Reducing, Reusing, Rethinking, in protecting and keeping our fragile environment. I believe in Love, Respect, Acceptance of the wide Human Diversity and the Peaceful Coexistence among ALL people and the rest of the creation, or the rest of the living beings we share our planet with. I take seriously Gandhi's words; "Be the Change You Want to See in The World" that’s why every day I try to be that Change.

(((()))) I am a sort of Straight Edger: Because of my Christian background, I share with the Straight Edgers the benefits to abstain from recreational drugs, including tobacco and alcohol, from promiscuous sex, the regular use of painkillers, the use or consumption of animal products, the intake of caffeine and temperance in general, abstaining from everything considered harmful, and the moderate use of the things that are beneficial.

(((()))) Plant Based Diet: It is proven scientifically that being a vegan-vegetarian makes people healthier and increase our life span among other goods, In my case, that's not as important as knowing that by adopting a plant based diet, I am not being part of the chain of cruelty and inhumane treatment of animals.

(((())))) I am a Humane Educator. The world needs us, the human beings, the ones who as a raze has caused most of the Global Issues we face today, to stop and think and find a solution to reverse the chaotic future that awaits us according to evidence of current events and scientific predictions. I believe in education, and I believe that our hope is in the hands of everyone, but specially, in the hands of today’s children, teenagers and young adults. I believe they have the historic responsibility to play an active role in the transformation of our future, they, the Next Generation, should receive all the tools they need to cause a positive impact in that future, and I believe there’s no other subject that can pursue that goal in a more effective and integral way than Humane Education.
