Though young, but with a very rich past and experience especially in Biodiversity conservation activities and advocacy. Since I joined Rwanda University Club for Conservation of Biodiversity (RUCCB) as member in 2007 and in February 2009 as coordinator, I have carried out many project and making new & important connections with Local & International NGOs, Government institutions on behalf of RUCCB. As project we can list: -Active participation in World Wetland in February 2009 activities in collaboration with REMA (Rwanda Environment Management Authority) and Ramsar Convention on Wetlands secretariat advice for Africa Ms KIBATA. -Active participation in World Water Day in March 2009 in collaboration with National University of Rwanda, District GISAGARA. -Active participation in World Bird Watching Day in May 2009 in Collaboration with Association pour la Conservation de la Nature au Rwanda (ACNR). -Active participation in International Day for Biological diversity in May 2009 in collaboration with Convention on Biological Diversity in collaboration with Rwanda Environment Management Authority -Active participation in Rwanda Environment Week activities in collaboration with REMA through invitation from RWASEF (Rwanda NGOs Forum on Water, Sanitation and Environment) -Active participation in Gorilla Naming Ceremony and Gorilla Conservation Conference in June 2009 in collaboration with ORTPN (Office Rwandais du Tourism et des Parc National). From the moment I began studying in University, I have participated in various forums, workshops, conferences, and initiatives focused on climate change, biodiversity Conservation, HIV/AIDS, MDGs. My passion for these issues has led me to become deeply involved in the organization as member such as Tanzania Nature Resources Forum(TNRF), Association of American Geographers, Servir Africa, TakingITGlobal, GIS Specialist in Africa, Global Youth Coalition Against HIV/AIDS. Along with some experience as fieldworker: - Field observations and tracking learning behavior, ecology & biology of mountain gorillas and Endemic Golden Monkey at Volcanoes National Park in collaboration with KARISOKE Research Center and the National University of Rwanda. - Field visit learning ecology of large mammals at Akagera National Park in collaboration with National University of Rwanda and Conservation Biology Education Project (CBEP). - Field research, tracking and learning more about paratilogy status, Ecology, conservation strategy of Chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii) in NYUNGWE National Park in collaboration with a student from Antioch University New England-USA doing her Master (Ms Tamarra Holli Martz). - Small mammals survey in Nyungwe National Park in collaboration with an Expert from Chicago Field Museum –USA (Prof. Julian Christopher Kerbis), WCS, UNDP and REMA. - I have obtained a: 1. certificate of course completion Achieving MDG5 in collaboration with International Alliance for Youth coalition 2. certificate of course completion on project management E-course in collaboration with GYCA As we are approaching next year ‘’ 2010’’ designed as International year of Biodiversity by convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) http://www.cbd.int/). Rwanda University Club for Conservation of Biodiversity have many project to carry out so that we can maximize our effort in Biodiversity Conservatio. We will work with some NGOs based here in Rwanda: WCS, RAMSAR focal, CBD focal point, some government instutitions:REMA, NUR, RDB,MINEDUC, et.
